Janet Dwyer on BBC 1 West News

Professor Janet Dwyer

An interview with CCRI Director, Professor Janet Dwyer, was broadcast on BBC 1 West (Regional News) on Saturday, 10th February.

The interview followed a recently published report written by Janet for the Public Policy Institute for Wales (PPIW), entitled ‘The Implications of Brexit for Agriculture, Rural Areas and Land Use in Wales’.

The report argues that if rural committees are to thrive after Brexit, they have to work together. Drawing on her experience working with a network on Exmoor in Somerset and Devon, Janet told the BBC that farming communities should work together and diversify to boost the fortunes of rural communities. She said that “It is about understanding new opportunities, with people with new backgrounds coming into these areas bringing new ideas for business”.
