CCRI SUFISA team travel to Pisa

Hannah Chiswell, Mauro Vigani and Damian Maye

Researchers from CCRI will be in Pisa next week as part of a SUFISA project writing retreat. Damian Maye, Hannah Chiswell and Mauro Vigani will spend three days with other members from the project team collating research findings and working on key publications in advance of the project’s final conference in Krakow next month. Damian Maye, who has been leading the CCRI team said “this writing retreat is an important final step before the project concludes, as it will allow all involved to focus on key messages and how to use these to generate academic papers from the project findings. The CCRI team will be focussing on issues regarding supply chains in the UK, but also contributing to wider project objectives“.

The purpose of SUFISA is to identify sustainable practices and policies in the agricultural, fish and food sectors that support the sustainability of primary producers in a context of multi-dimensionsal policy requirements, market uncertainties and globalisation. The CCRI case studies included dairy farming in Somerset and inshore fisheries in Cornwall.
