CCRI’s Reader in Sustainable Agri-environmental Systems, Julie Ingram joined a panel at the ADAS run YEN Yield Testing Message Lab on Thursday 6th February. The meeting discussed trial results and summarised farmers’ experiences of being actively involved in the YEN Yield Testing project. This project has run over two seasons and farmers from across the UK have performed 48 line trials through participating in several Farmer Innovation Groups (FIGs).
The panel was comprised of: Chair: Daniel Kindred (ADAS); panel: Tom MacMillan (Royal Agricultural University), Helen Aldis (Innovative Farmers), Emily Pope (Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board), Ben Rayner (Defra) and Julie Ingram (Countryside and Community Research Institute). The panel covered all aspects of farmer-centric research. Julie spoke about evidence available about the benefits of farmer led initiatives and how they are evaluated.
Julie has extensive research on a range of topics related to farming and agriculture, many of which are available on the University of Glocuestershire’s research repository.
