Senior Research Fellow, Julie Urquhart is to be guest Editor of the journal ‘Forests‘ with Dr. Mariella Marzano from Forest Research. ‘Forests’ is an international and cross-disciplinary, scholarly forestry journal and aims to be be recognised as one of the foremost publication outlets for high quality, leading edge research.
The theme for the special issue is ‘Global Forest Health and Climate Change: Social, Economic and Environmental Implications’ and is now accepting manuscripts for consideration. This Special Issue aims to highlight the complex interrelationships between climate, globalisation, forests and forest health, as well as approaches to advance understanding and inform on best practice in mitigating or adapting to the impacts. The editors encourage the submission of both empirical and theoretical papers from environmental, economic and social sciences that present new evidence or illustrate the possibilities and challenges of managing and limiting the impacts of increasing risks to forest health. Guest Editor Dr Julie Urquhart comments: “In this special issue of Forests we will focus on the interplay between climate change, globalisation and forest health in order to advance understanding on managing forest health in a changing world.”
