A new paper has been published with Julie Ingram as lead author. She is joined by her CCRI colleagues Pete Gaskell, Jane Mills and Janet Dwyer.
Entitled ‘How do we enact co-innovation with stakeholders in agricultural research projects? Managing the complex interplay between contextual and facilitation processes‘ the paper ‘draws on analysis of activities in a European research project which employed a co-innovation methodology across 10 diverse case studies in Europe to facilitate the identification and testing of stakeholder innovation needs and solutions respectively, with project scientists’.
Regarding the paper, lead author Julie Ingram said “we read a lot about co-innovation these days and the underpinning concepts are well known but how do you actually ‘do’ co-innovation in a research project? This paper addresses this question drawing on experiences in an EU projects that worked with different case studies across Europe. It specifically asks: How does context affect the co-innovation research process in different case studies? How does stakeholder facilitation at the case study level affect the co-innovation research process? How can research design and management adapt to these? These paper’s findings are important given the continued commitment towards multi-actor and trans-disciplinary approaches in EU and international research projects”.
