CCRI researchers contribute chapter to new book

Three researchers from the CCRI were recently invited to contribute to a new book that analyses rural policies and employment in the USA and EU – two of the most developed parts of the world. The team, led by Mauro Vigani had previously worked on a European Parliament report entitled ‘The role ofthe EU’s Common Agricultural Policy in creating rural jobs‘, published in 2016 and provided the groundwork for their chapter in the book, which is a review of previous studies is entitled ‘CAP and Rural Jobs: Analysis of Studies’ and was co-authored by John Powell and Janet Dywer.

The new book, which features contributions from a range of academics, including former CCRI Director Bill Slee, highlights the differing approaches the USA and EU adopt with regard to their rural areas. Rural Policies and Employment – TransAtlantic Experiences is published by World Scientific, and is available in hardcopy and as an E-book.
