Research Assistant Pippa Simmonds and PhD student Josh Davis recently attended the Green Man Festival as part of the TRI-SoMe CHICKEN project team. They were taking part in the ‘Chicken Exchange’, a public engagement activity designed to spark conversations and reflections on the UK broiler chicken sector.
Pippa is currently recruiting broiler farmers to take part in interviews about resilience in the sector, considering issues like avian influenza, feed supply chains, and managing disruptions such as extreme heat. If you are interested in taking part, then please email her psimmonds1@glos.ac.uk.
As well as supporting the TRI-SoMe CHICKEN team, Josh has also attended the recent ‘Bridging Fields‘ residency at the Royal Agriculture University designed around communicating and co-designing regenerative agriculture with famers. He is also is continuing with case study analysis – examining the collaborative, entrepreneurial, and technical skills required in facilitating landscape-scale nature recovery in situ, and is preparing a manuscript based on an earlier exploratory assessment of such issues for the autumn.
