Janet Dwyer to present at NFU Cymru Sustainable Farming Conference

On Wednesday September 3rd, NFU Cymru will hold its Sustainable Farming Conference at Ffrith Farm, Mold. The event will showcase farmers’ work feeding the nation, enhancing the farmed environment and spearheading their local communities.

CCRI’s Janet Dwyer has been invited to speak at the event exploring the future of Welsh Farming. She will be joined by Iain Donnison (head of IBERS) and Alastair Leake (Policy Director, GWCT).

Janet will be emphasizing the links between the future of farming and the state of the rural economy, highlighting the important opportunities for linking land-based businesses into more resilient and sustainable rural futures, building a more circular economy, adding value and economies of scope, and de-linking from the treadmill of fossil fuel dependence and the vagaries of global commodity markets, among other things.

There will also be an opportunity for those attending to go on a tour of the 250 acre mixed farm.

Full details of the agenda and registration details can be found on the event website.
