Research Assistant Dan Keech will be teaching this week on the MSc Sociological Studies course at Masaryk University, Brno, in the Czech Republic.
Dan will be teaching 6 sessions on the local economic alternatives module which cover geographical and sociological discourses linked to local and global food, and present case studies of local food practice from England and Germany. This will include farmers’ markets, community supported agriculture and social enterprises which market apple juice as a way to finance the conservation of traditional orchards. Students will also be given practical exercises that stimulate discussions around what might constitute a sustainable diet.
