CCRI’s Dan Keech will be presenting at the ‘Rurality: New Perspectives and Themes’ conference at the Otto-Friederich Univeristy in Bamberg, Germany on 15th and 16th November 2013.
Dan has been involved in the organisation of the conference as he is a committee member of the Royal Geographic Society – Institute of British Geographers (RGS-IBG) Rural Geography Research Group. His presentation is entitled ‘Social Enterprise: new commercial models for old cultural landscapes?’ The conference will be conducted largely in English although as Dan is a fluent German speaker, he has been assisting with translations in certain areas.
Dan Keech said “the idea for this conference was conceived at an RGS-IBG annual conference in 2011, where a number of German and British academics they felt that the vibrant nature of rural geography in Britain could inspire and energise similar debates in Germany. “
The conference now has a global attraction with presentations by academics from China, Brazil, Ecuador and India. The draft program can be found here.
