CCRI Winter School – Call For Participation

We are excited to announce that the annual CCRI Winter School will be taking place on the 10th  and 11th January 2017, at Oxstalls Campus of the University of Gloucestershire.

Following the established tradition of previous CCRI Winter Schools, it is in association with the Royal Geographical Society (the Institute of British Geographers) Rural Geography Research Group and the Rural Services Network.

We are inviting postgraduate students, at any stage in their studies to contribute a paper and take part in discussions supported by staff from the CCRI.  The whole focus on the two days is creating a developmental and collegiate environment, with a concentration on the challenges and triumphs of advanced studies in the social sciences and allied disciplines. To get a flavour of what the Winter School is like, take a look at the film from 2014.

A previous participant said of the experience:

“Just to say thank you to you all at CCRI for a really useful and enjoyable Winter School.  It really is a very valuable and supportive resource to PhD students within rural research, so I just wanted to let you know how much it is appreciated and to thank you all for your time and input”.

As well as students from the CCRI this year will also feature a seminar on ‘getting published’ and a roundtable discussion on ‘progessing your thesis’.

If you would like to contribute a paper, please send a brief outline to George Cusworth – GeorgeCusworth@connect.glos.ac.uk and state whether you would like a 5, 10 or 20-minute presentation slot.
