CCRI’s Reader in Sustainable Agri-environmental Systems, Dr Julie Ingram, has just arrived in Brisbane, Australia, to take up an OECD Research Fellowship, which she was awarded earlier this year.
Julie will be at the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia until April, 2019.
Julie’s research will be looking at different approaches to translating scientific knowledge into useful information for farmers. We know that scientific knowledge is important to support agricultural productivity growth and protect natural capital, however we also know that translation needs to incorporate farmer innovation to make it effective. Julie will be evaluating different collaborative approaches to translation in different farming contexts drawing on experiences in both countries. Insights gained will inform policy in UK and Europe.
