Julie Ingram mentoring workshop in Kazakhstan

Julie Ingram will be in Kazakhstan from the 14th to 18th November, at a British Council Researcher Links Workshop on Management of Innovation in the Agricultural Sector. Julie is acting as mentor for the coordinators of the workshop which aims to increase research capacity of UK and Kazakhstani early career researchers and promote collaboration between them.

Community Orchards article published in LEAF

Dan Keech has had an article printed in a celebration issue of LEAF, a seasonal newspaper for trees, woods and people published by Common Ground. Dan's article is on community orchards and he explains why community orchards are healthier both for us and for local wildlife.

New paper published with free online access

Julie Ingram and Jane Mills have co-authored a paper which has just been published in the Journal of Rural Studies. The paper is entitled 'Communicating soil carbon science to farmers: incorporating credibility, salience and legitimacy’ and has free online access until December 24, 2016.

Janet Dwyer invited to take part in major Brexit conference

CCRI Director, Janet Dwyer, is one of only 36 key experts invited to take part in a conference organised by Parliament to consider some of the key policy areas affected by the UK’s decision to leave the EU. The purpose of the day will be to discuss the effect of Brexit on different policy areas and help researchers and academics connect, network and share expertise and ideas.

Paper accepted for publication in new journal

Dan Keech has had a paper accepted for publication in the first volume of the new journal Urban Agriculture and Regional Food Systems. The paper was co-written with Evy Mettepenningen, Marlinde Koopmans, Ilona Kunda and Talis Tisenkopfs and has emerged from CCRI's involvement in the SUPURBfood project.

Marco Della Gala representing Sofia project in Brussels

Marco Della Gala is currently in Brussels, representing the EU Sofia project at the TRADEIT and Trafoon Networks joint closing conference, entitled 'Open to Innovation: Networks for the sustainability of Traditional Food Sector in Europe' that aims to share a vision for the future development of the SME food sector in Europe.

New paper published with free online access

A paper entitled "PDO as a Mechanism for Reterritorialisation and Agri-Food Governance: A Comparative Analysis of Cheese Products in the UK and Switzerland", co-written by CCRI's Damian Maye, James Kirwan and Dan Keech, has been published in Agriculture with free online access.
