Two new e-publications are available for download regarding the governance of city food systems, both of which are co-authored by CCRI researchers.
Damian Maye contributed to ‘Governance in City Food Systems’, which provides the reader with a general overview of urban governance of food systems. It serves to highlight, not only the smart, sustainable and inclusive nature of the urban and regional governance, which underpins the growth of infrastructure development, but that also support the solution corridor opening up for city food systems to bridge territorial divisions in the access to and distribution of goods and services produced by the agricultural sector. Highlighting the governance of city food systems in this way, it also offers a series of critical insights into the territorial divisions of urban and regional governance, which underlie the growth of infrastructure developments and that surface as matters relating to the resilience of city food systems.

The second book follows on from the previous text and brings together eight papers on the governance of city food systems. As case studies, they examine the governance of city food systems in Milan, Belo Horizonte, Vancouver, Edinburgh, Bristol, Bangkok, Jakarta and Singapore. Dan Keech and Matt Reed were contributing authors to this publication, using Bristol as their case study area. Their chapter is entitled ‘Making the City Smart from the Grassroots up: the Sustainable Food Networks of Bristol’, pages 78 -98.
