What are the benefits of sustainable farming certification? Find out by registering for free webinar

What are the benefits of sustainable farming certification? What added value does it deliver to farmers?

You can find out by registering for a free research webinar to be presented by CCRI’s Matt Reed,  in which he will look at the added value of certification for farmers in addition to delivering more sustainable farming.

The webinar will take place on Thursday 19th October at 2pm (UK time) and will be based on the findings from a research project that revealed that LEAF Marque certification can offer significant financial, environmental and social benefits for farm businesses who are members of the system.

The LEAF Marque is an environmental assurance system recognising more sustainably farmed products. The study that Matt was involved in showed that for many businesses the value of participating in the LEAF Marque assurance system reached beyond their initial motivations for joining, which were predominantly financial, and helped them develop their businesses in ways they had not previously considered.

In the webinar, Matt will consider how the LEAF Marque can influence business benefits, such as savings and access to markets, improvements in the farmed environment and control of risks to the farm’s operation. He will also look at how certification had impacted on management information, peer networking, contact with customers and other business people. The webinar will present findings from recent research that the CCRI conducted on behalf of LEAF, the findings of which were presented to Defra Minister, George Eustice MP by the organisation at the ‘Cereals 2017’ event.
